How to Choose Your Columbus Ohio Newborn Photographer

Finding the perfect newborn photographer is crucial, after you’ve had your baby you’re going to want to feel loved, taken care of and like you can trust your photographer. Right after having your sweet angel baby, you’re going to be pulled in many directions, so making sure this process is smooth is so important. You are getting ready to have a baby which is already a lot of work, and TONS of preparation. Between baby classes, decorating the nursery, picking the perfect going home outfit, birth plan, hospital tours and so much more, it’s a lot.

I’ve created a quick list of things to keep in mind when choosing a newborn photographer to capture those precious fleeting moments while making this crazy time less stressful!

Location

Finding a photographer that is close to you will be so comforting and make for a much more enjoyable experience all around. You’re going to be adjusting to your new life as a mom while trying to get multiple people out the door and to this session. Take the time to find someone close to you that you love. You won’t want to take a new baby too far away from home being so young, keeping location close to home will be comforting.

Being in Columbus, Ohio, I offer an all inclusive experience for my clients making it that much less stressful. I’ll have everything you need for your session, so all you’ll need to do is show up! Find a photographer that eases your worries and stresses as much as possible.

Qualified

A newborn photographer should be someone that you trust fully to care for your child throughout the session and be qualified to pose your baby safely and properly. Most newborn photographers take courses, or shadow other photographers to learn as much as they can about safe posing.

Newborns are tiny and easy to move but your photographer will still need to be careful during the session. This is why I suggest an actual photographer and not a family friend. If you want the intricate posing, and fun props, leave that to the professionals. We provide a whole experience, if you’re in my studio you’ll. have drinks and snacks and even hair and makeup artists at your disposable if you choose to jump in the photos!

Schedule

As a Columbus newborn photographer that has been blessed to work with hundreds of babies, I only take on so many clients a month to provide the best experience possible. Getting in touch with a newborn photographer while you’re still pregnant is the best way. to ensure working with your top photography choice (me!). Because babies come when they want to, booking fewer clients for a month at a time allows me to be readily available when your sweet babe makes their big debut.

Your experience should be one that you look back on fondly feeling relaxed and filled with joy. Your baby is only little for so long, take the time to find someone that understands your vision and will capture what means most to you. That will capture the little things, and knows what’s important to parents during this special time.
