When you have a baby everything is a whirlwind for a bit of time. You give birth, have family visit, introduce your new bundle to the world, have your newborn photos taken, and most important of all you learn how to nurture and care for this little babe! Then you get a hang of things and the world quiets down a bit. It’s during this time that you will look back on your newborn images and wonder, “what now?”

There are so many ways to use your newborn images, I could honestly go on for days! But I am just going to share my top 5 ideas on how to use your newborn images. Some of these are obvious, yet meaningful. And others are one of a kind!

Gift Giving

When you have a newborn session with me you will come home with so many images! These images will make the perfect gift for anyone, but especially family! Your parents will definitely want a framed image of their new grandbaby to show everyone who visits. And your brother wont turn down a mousepad for his office with your newborn’s face on it! This way to use newborn images makes for the most meaningful and beautiful gift for everyone in your family.

Nursery Decor

Decorating a nursery is a big task, and you are not expected to have it completely finished by the time that baby arrives! I suggest that you leave a space on a wall of the nursery for your newborn’s photos to be hung. You will be in and out of their bedroom for years to come, and by having their newborn images hanging on their wall you will always be reminded how sweet and small they once were.

Announcements

It would be a real shame if you didn’t share your newborn images with the entire world! Whether you are planning to send out physical cards, or are keeping it more simple and posting on social media, you will be glad that you got professional images taken. Having high quality images of your newborn to share with everyone you love is a wonderful thing. Although you may be far in distance, they will feel as if they are getting to experience all those little details of your bundle of joy.

Pocket Sized Photos

This one is my favorites! A wonderful way to use your newborn photos is to take them to be printed in pocket sized. These are great to share with relatives and to carry around for yourself! Grandparents, aunts, uncles and even siblings can carry around a little picture of your baby in their wallet to share with others. It can also be easily hung on the fridge or placed on a tac board at work.

Family Gallery Wall

As you grow your family, your gallery of family photos will also increase! I always love seeing homes filled with memories hanging in the form of a gallery wall. Start your family’s gallery wall and be sure to add one of your newborn photos into the mix! You can decide to update your family gallery wall every year, or just continually add frames to create a large collection of family pictures. Either way, make sure the newest member of your family is on the wall too!

There are so many ways to use your newborn photos. And once the rush of having a baby has calmed down a bit you will be able to start implementing all of these ideas, as well as think of some yourself! But before then you will need to have your newborn photos taken by a professional. Let’s connect and book a time to have a newborn session in my Columbus, Ohio photography studio!
