Getting to meet new families as a newborn photographer here in Columbus is one of the best aspects of my job. I am often one of the very first trips out of the home as a family after delivery. And I know it can be overwhelming to think about doing the shoot so soon after the baby is born. Getting here is often the most difficult part, but from there we take over and strive to create the most calm, comfortable, enjoyable experience as possible.
As we do with most families with young siblings, we started with the family and sibling shots! This big brother was only 15 months and ooh my goodness did he flirt with me! He wanted to see everything I was doing and check on his baby sister. For his age I think he did quite well for his sibling shots and the family shots. Our goal is to get one or two good shots and we got several of this little guy with the most infectious smile ever!
From there it was all about baby girl. She was awake the majority of her session. While I love getting awake shots, it’s often difficult to get specific poses when they are awake. Finally after a few hours, she fell asleep and we got all of those perfect sleepy shots in the last 15 minutes!
I just love their gallery and all of the variety we captured. And incorporating mama’s wedding dress and daddy’s wedding hat made it even more special. Last week they came in for their reveal and ordering session and ordered some beautiful woodblocks for their walls. I can’t wait to see them displayed on the walls!
And how adorable is the personalized swaddle with her name on it. Mama got it from https://cadenlane.com
